Streaming Overflow, 2011

“Be silent always when you doubt your sense;
And speak, though sure, with seeming diffidence:
Some positive, persisting fops we know,
Who, if once wrong, will needs be always so;
But you, with pleasure own your errors past,
And make each day a critic on the last.”

Alexander Pope, An Essay on Criticism

Fascinated by the ephemeral in the digital realm, these “screenshots” are captured glimpses of interrupted video streaming. An error, so seldom expected from a machine. Due that streaming depends on many variables (user’s broadband, CPU, the server’s demand protocol), it is a difficult thing to provoke in a system or recreate digitally.

All these reasons make these moments of failure so precious, fleeting and chaotically colorful.
